Thursday 10th Sep, 2026 Meet the Candidates – General Election Event

Ahead of this year’s general election, we are bringing together the candidates standing in the Taupō electorate for a Meet the Candidates evening.

Confirmed: Louise Upston (National), Chris Flatt (Labour), Sam Plummer (T.O.P).

Other candidates may also join the evening – more details to follow.

This isn’t your standard panel. When you register, you’ll be asked to submit your question. These will be grouped by theme ahead of time, and on the night, each question will be pitched to one candidate first, who’ll have a limited time to respond, before it’s opened up to the other candidates for discussion.

It’s a chance to hear directly from the people who want to represent our region, and to see how they respond to the issues that matter most to Taupō business owners and residents.
