The Taupō Business Chamber first launched the First Fifteen group to support people in the early stages of their careers. Starting out, whether in a new town, a new role, or a whole new industry, can feel overwhelming, and the group was created to make that journey feel a little less lonely. It became a place to meet others, share experiences, and build connections that actually mean something.
Over time, we realised the name “First Fifteen” did not quite capture who we hoped to reach. So, the brand has been refreshed and we have created Emerge, a name that reflects the journey of finding your place, building confidence, and becoming known in the Taupō business community. Whether you are new to the region, shifting careers, or simply stepping into something new, Emerge is here to help shape whatever comes next.
Emerge is guided by members of the Taupō Business Chamber board, all committed to supporting long-term growth and success for Taupō’s up-and-coming professionals.
Our Key Priorities
- Create real connections: Bringing people together to meet, talk, and build relationships that matter – within the Taupō community.
- Offer genuine support: Providing a space where people understand the challenges of starting out and where members can feel encouraged and welcomed.
- Share helpful resources: From local business guides to opportunities for mentoring and learning, we aim to give members the tools they need to grow and succeed.
